How did Nero Burning Software get its' name? - Tech - Techie4Life
| Well Nero Burning ROM, commonly known as Nero got its' name by a play on words. In 64 AD the Roman Emperor Nero had supposedly set the city of Rome on fire. The inventors of Nero decided that a CD-ROM Burning Software should be called Nero because of the incident with the Roman Emperor. In German the word Rome is spelled "Rom", so the program's name is actually called "Nero Burning Rome". After their ironic name, they even made the Nero logo go along with their witty name. The logo was an image of the Roman Colosseum in flames. Ah, don't you just love history? |
